Hello Sheriff Irving,

My name is ___, and I’m a Richmond resident concerned about the safety of the city’s incarcerated people during the coronavirus pandemic. Incarcerated people have a unique vulnerability to disease through their crowded, unsanitary living conditions and lack of access to adequate medical care, so I am asking for the immediate release of all people in the Richmond City Justice Center and the Juvenile Detention Center. I am also asking that you direct your officers to not detain people in jail during the pandemic. Richmond is watching and waiting for your action. Will you allow people to die, or take the necessary steps to keep incarcerated people safe?
